Also known as: The diva
Role in band: Singer
Lives in: Wayland, MA
Day Job: Job Development Specialist at Minute Man Arc and President of Heated Lions Enterprises.
Musical influences: Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, Billie Holiday, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Aaron Neville. Plus a special shout-out to the Eagles, JD Souther and the rest of the musicians on the Electra Asylum label in the '70s who taught me how to harmonize.
If you could trade places with any musician for a long weekend, who would it be? Bonnie Raitt. Not a bad song in her repertoire. Great back up musicians. A close friend of Jackson Browne. Perfect damn voice. Great hair.
Not sure how Bonnie would respond to parenting teenagers for that same weekend. Since they’re my kids, I’m sure she’d be delighted.
If wishes came true, Radio Flyer would open for what act? The Neville Brothers.
Have you ever received attention from the opposite sex because you were in a band? Ha! Well, I do have two children. That I know of.
What do your kids think about the band? C’mon! They have to put up with a mother who sings, "Hip Shakin' Mama" in front of their friends. They deserve an award.
What do your coworkers think about you being in the band? I live in New England. I never know what anyone is thinking.
How is your day job like being in a band and vice versa? Diva by day; diva by night. It's all the same.
Have you ever referred to helpful fans as "my roadies"? No, but groupies is a whole other conversation. ;)
What's the most surprising thing you learned about a band mate? One of them likes Barry Manilow and, best of all, will admit to it.
Have you ever trashed a hotel room? No, but I woke up trashed in a foyer once.
Favorite movie about rock and roll: School of Rock. The Last Waltz and The Commitments are strong contenders as well.
What line from a song best reflects your approach to life? “You learn a lot more about life from/the things you aren’t supposed to do” – Delbert McClinton
Ginger or Mary Ann? Both. We could go shoe shopping. Maybe grab some lunch and discuss life in the spotlight.
